Welcome to Political Perusers, a weekly non-partisan newsletter that features current happenings in our Democracy, along with a list of viable job and internship opportunities in politics, law, and advocacy.
This newsletter is free — and if you like what you see, please feel free to forward it around. I’m a one-woman team, so the structure of this newsletter may change over time as I learn new things, but I will do my best to provide you with the best content I can.
In honor of MLK Day, Political Perusers partnered with The Presidental Inaugural Committee and Nazareth House to hold a PPE/Warm Clothing Drive in Greenville, S.C., and boy, was it fun!
Life lightens when you give!

Today, we will witness a monumental shift in leadership as Joe Biden will be sworn in as the 46th President of the United States of America, with Kamala Harris as his Vice President.
Harris has solidified two firsts.
She will be the first woman elected to the Office of the Vice President in America's history.
And, she will be the first person of Black and South Asian descent elected to the office of the Vice President in America's history.
Despite personal convictions on who should occupy this sacred office, no one living through this historical moment can denounce that our Democracy is only as strong as our dedication to inclusivity.
When we elect leaders who represent the diverse composition of America, we have the opportunity to deconstruct the systems that have convinced so many that they could never achieve their dreams because of their race, religion, gender, and so forth.
Here's to breaking all of the glass ceilings!
